ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Hours of Operation:
Kids’ Kingdom makes great efforts to accommodate parents’ traditional
and/or non-traditional work hours. Therefore, Kids’ Kingdom’s hours of
child care are from 6:30am Monday- 6:30am Sunday for children ages 6
weeks through 12 years of age. However, the hours that your fee is based
upon will be specified in your Contract and Rate Agreement. Special
arrangements for child care on evenings, weekends, closed holidays,
drop-in hours, and extended care will be made on an individual basis
with the provider. The provider is not obligated to provide care other
than those contracted for your child. Additional fees will be charged
accordingly.
An emergency or occasional need to work overtime is understandable.
However, like you and your family, after a long and full day's work, we
value and enjoy our "quality time" with our loved ones. Please call as
soon as you realize that you will be running late.
If you need to drop off your child before your scheduled time, please
call before 9:00pm the night before in order to see if your request can
be accommodated. If you just show up early without prior notice We may
not be prepared to receive your child and may choose not to admit
him/her until their contracted arrival time. Additional fees for early
drop-off may apply.
If your child is going to be late
or absent for the day, please call before 9:00 am so that we may
plan for activities and meal preparation accordingly!
TRANSITION PERIODS
It is normal for some children to have difficulty separating from
parents in the morning or not wanting to leave when it's time to go
home. Saying good-bye, whether in the morning or afternoon, is a time
when parents and providers can work together to ease the transition for
the child. Please be very brief (no more than 5 minutes is usually
sufficient) during these transition times. The longer you prolong the
departure the harder it gets for many children. Children are nearly
always quick to get involved in play or activities as soon as parents
are gone. Carefully planned routines will help your child predict what
activity comes next and enable them to move through the day with
confidence and ease.
Please keep in mind that until you and your child(ren) physically leave
the premises, all Kids' Kingdom rules are to be followed and observed.
Many children will test to see if the rules still apply when a parent or
guardian is present. With your help and support of Kids’ Kingdom rules
we can continue to provide a consistent environment for your child.
Please be watchful of your child during pick up times. Children are not
permitted to go outside unattended at any time.
SIGNING IN/OUT
Each day upon arrival, you will be required to sign your child(ren) in,
noting the time and including your signature. A sign in/out log is
provided. The same procedure is used to sign the child(ren) out each
day.
9:00 a.m. is the beginning of our structured learning activities;
disruptions during this time takes away from the children's focus and
quality of the learning experiences. We ask that you please take
our schedule into consideration when picking up or dropping off your
child(ren). Again, please be sure to call before 9:00 am if your child
is going to be absent or late. This helps us to better plan our
daily activities and meals. Also, please make every attempt to avoid drop
offs/pick-ups to occur during quiet time, but when they do, please be
mindful that the children may be sleeping. Children who arrive during
quiet time will be expected to rest or play quietly until the rest
period is over. Also,
PICK-UP POLICIES
Kids' Kingdom is committed to the safety of your child. The following
policies will be strictly adhered to:
1. Children will be released to their parent/guardians only, and/or
those persons identified on the Authorization for Dismissal Form.
2. Your request for someone listed on your Authorization for Dismissal
Form to pick up your child MUST ALWAYS BE IN WRITING.
3. Photographs must be provided for every name listed on your Dismissal
Authorization Form.
4. If a person other than you or your spouse is picking up your child,
please inform them that for the safety of your child, they may be asked
to show a photo ID.
5. NOTE: a phone call or fax authorizing the pick-up of your child(ren)
is NOT permitted. All requests must be in writing
LATE PICK-UP
Your child must be picked up at or before your contracted pickup time by
an authorized adult in order to avoid additional fees. A 15 minute grace
period after your contracted pickup time will be granted, after which
time an overtime rate of $5.00 per every 15 minutes after your
contracted time will accrue. This means that if your contracted pickup
time is 4:30pm and you show up at 4:46pm, you will owe an additional
$5.00. After 5:00 pm would be $10.00, and so on. Any overtime fees are
expected to be paid at time of pick-up. If continuous late pick-ups
occur, it may be necessary to change your contracted hours. If a child
is not picked up on time and a parent or emergency contact person cannot
be contacted , police may be called.
If you know in advance that you will need to pickup your child later
than your contracted hours, you must arrange this with us at least 1hour
before your child’s scheduled pickup time to avoid paying the overtime
charges, however, extended care charges may still apply. Kids’ Kingdom
will make reasonable efforts to , but is not obligated to, accommodate
your request. If your request is declined and you still arrive late, a
charge of $5.00 per every 15 minutes you're late will accrue. This fee
is simply to assure that children are picked up on time.
If overtime is prearranged and you or your authorized designee will be
picking up your child after their contracted hours, you will be charged
for the additional child care at the extended care rate. Payment will be
expect at the time of late pick up. If you are unable to make the
payment at pick-up, you will be billed on the following week’s tuition.
These rules will be strictly enforced and habitual tardiness may result
in termination of services. Please see the tuition section for policies
on payments.
MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY
Motor vehicle related injuries are one of the greatest threats to a
child’s life.
*Please park on the street in a manner that does not block others’ cars
or driveways.
*Please turn your car motor off when dropping off or picking up your
child.
*Children must be supervised upon leaving the premises and entering a
vehicle.
*DO NOT LEAVE YOUNG CHILDREN UNATTENDED IN YOUR CAR!
FIELD TRIPS
Parents will be notified through memos and monthly newsletters of
upcoming field trips. You may be requested to provide a car seat for the
day and/or pay any fees associated with the trip. You will be required
to sign a permission slip that I will be brought on the trip along with
emergency contact information for each child and first aid supplies. In
the event of an emergency away from the child care home, your child will
be cared for and you will be notified. Attendance is voluntary. If you
do not wish for your child to attend our field trip, your regular fee is
due like that of any absence, and it is your responsibility to obtain
alternate care for the day. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to
chaperone.
