Parent And Teacher
(author unknown)

I dreamed I stood in a studio
And watched two sculptors there
The clay they used was a young child’s mind
And they fashioned it with care.

One was a teacher- the tools she used
Were book, music, art
The other, a parent, had a guiding hand
And a gently, loving heart.

Day after day the teacher toiled
And was careful, deft, and sure
While the parent labored by his side
And polished and smoothed it o’er.

And when at last their work was done
They were proud of what they had wrought
For the things they had molded into the child
Could neither be sold not bought.
And each agreed they would have failed
If each had worked alone
For behind the parent, stood the school
And behind the teacher, the home.

My name is Danielle Dailey and I am a mother of three wonderful children ages infant, 2 years, and 6 years old. I have worked with children for more than 15 years and can truly say that caring for children has not only been my life's work, but also Passion.

Prior to moving to Western Massachusetts in February of 2003, I grew up and lived in Rhode Island.  It was there that I attended college working towards my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development.  During this time I was also a licensed Infant/Toddler and Preschool Teacher (through the Office of Child Care Services) working in a large child care center located in Seekonk, Massachusetts. When I had my first daughter in 2000, I was fortunate enough to have her there with me each day, and to watch as she accomplished each milestone in her early years. During my more than 4 1/2 year employment there, I worked with many children ranging in ages from infant to school age.  It was at this center that I also held the position of Assistant Director for a year and a half.

In 2003, our family moved to Springfield, Massachusetts, where I began working as a Lead Preschool Teacher in another large daycare center.  After the birth of my son in 2004, I started looking for a career that would allow me to both stay home and raise my family and continue my love of teaching.  In 2005 we purchased a home in Monson, Massachusetts, and I began the process of becoming a family childcare provider.  In 2006, shortly after the birth of our youngest daughter, I obtained my license and opened Kids' Kingdom Family Child Care.

My primary goal as a family childcare provider is to offer all the love, care, nurturing, and education that your child would receive at home from you and your family. I hope that you will soon feel that Kids' Kingdom Family Child Care is the best "home away from home" for your child.
