closings. Please mark your calendar!

When a holiday falls on a Saturday or
Sunday and is observed on the Friday prior or Monday after, Kids’
Kingdom will be closed. For example, if Christmas, December 25th, falls
on a Sunday, Kids’ Kingdom will be closed on that Monday.
Kids’ kingdom may also schedule up to two paid professional training
days per year.
VACATION
The provider (Kids’ Kingdom Family Child Care) may take up to 2 weeks
vacation at 1/2 your child’s contracted weekly fee. The provider will
give the parents at least 8 weeks prior notice of all scheduled vacation
time. Parents are responsible for securing alternate care.
In return, each child will be given 2 contracted weeks of 1/2 rate
tuition (vacation) to be used during times of illness, holidays,
closings, etc. For example, if your child attends 3 days per week, you
would receive a total of 6 days at half rate (3days/week X 2weeks), 4
days per week= 8 days at half rate, and so on. A written notice must be
given in order for Kids' Kingdom to apply this rate to your child's
weekly tuition. When using vacation days, you will be credited on the
following week's tuition unless given at least 2 week's written notice
in advance of the scheduled absence.
You are encouraged to schedule your vacations to coincide with Kids’
Kingdom’s closures to avoid paying for your vacation time. All accounts
prepaid at the time of unscheduled closure (illness, emergency) will be
credited for the following billing cycle.
PROVIDER ILLNESS
In the case of provider’s illness you will be contacted as soon as
possible, with no less than one hour before your scheduled drop off
time. There will be no charges related to the provider's illness that
prohibits care.
If one of the provider’s children will be home sick, you will be
notified of the situation so that you may determine if your child will
attend that day(s). If you should decide to keep your child home, you
will still be billed your regularly contracted weekly tuition.
In the event of a family emergency you will be given as much notice as
possible. There will be no charges related to the provider's emergency
that prohibits care.
Parents are responsible for securing alternate care when Kids‘ Kingdom
will be closed due to school closings, illness or emergencies.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
In the event of severe weather such as snow storms or severe rain
storms, when the city/town declares a severe weather emergency, closes
schools and businesses and when self employed parents close their
businesses early, etc., please call to notified us of your personal
situation and confirm drop-off and pickup times. If the parent is
leaving work early, it is highly recommend that they pick up their
child. If a parent must continue to work the day, Kids’ Kingdom will
remain open for their child.
If school has been closed, yet businesses are open and a parent must
work, care will still be available, however if a parent chooses not to
go to work, because of inclement weather, it is highly recommend that
they keep their child home also, instead of putting the child at risk by
trying to get them to and from child care.
In the event of school closure due to inclement weather, school age
children will be able to attend full day upon availability of space. All
necessary adjustments of daily fees will be due with the next weeks
payment.
The daily fee will still be charged for these days, however, any early
or late charges will be waived to allow for safe travel.
EMERGENCY
PROCEDURES/BACKUP PROVIDER
The Provider's mother,
Robin Etchingham, a registered RN, is sometimes available to provide
care in the event an emergency or appointment. When she is not
available, an other qualified assistant may be employed to help
supervise the children for a short period of time if necessary. You will
be notified at least 24 hours in advance if a back-up provider will be
utilized, except in the case of emergencies. Please be aware that backup
providers are only used for appointments and emergencies.
We must have on file, phone numbers where the parents can be reached,
plus the numbers of TWO adults who are willing to be emergency contacts.
It is extremely important that all these numbers are kept current.
Please discuss what your plan of action is with your emergency contact
people so there is little or no confusion if they should be called upon
to take responsibility of your child.
